Living near Portland Oregon after many years in Southern California I find the lack of sun does keep me indoors more often. No wonder I’m now keeping this blog.
As the title of this blog makes evident, I do illustration. Which I do a lot more of now that it’s raining most of the time. I also do panel cartoons from time to time. But what do I actually do? Well, I’ve been the Art Director for Sony Online, and oversaw the development of international websites for several technology companies as well as branding work in print and online, I was a Creative Director for Pearson Televison New Media, I was also a manager in the current production department of Walt Disney Television Animation, I have made several animated shorts (The Thing with No Head has had the widest exposure) seen on Nicktoons and G4 TV in the USA and in Britain.
I attended the first year of the MFA in Animation program at UCLA, but left to work at Disney. I also write and draw comic books, kids books and have done visual development work for animated TV and features. But what do I REALLY do? Uh, well…I do creative work across mediums, including animation, illustration and some graphic design. But I mainly write and draw stories. I love drawing and writing picture books (currently doing one or Tricycle Press) and am developing a set of t-shirts for children which has been licensed.
I enjoy telling stories, no matter the medium and this blog is a place to informally show what I am up to and express a few opinions, for good and for bad.
This is interesting, to learn a little about another “fearing” I never remember meeting!
