It’s animation time here on my illustration blog. Is that weird? Animation and illustration together? Like peanut butter and bananas?
Well, no intro really needed for Chris Sanders. The co-director of Lilo and Stitch , who is now hard at work at Dreamworks on a new film (I think developed from a John Cleese pitch, but maybe I’m wrong on that…). I had the pleasure of interviewing Chris for the UCLA Graduate Magazine of Animation a few years back.
He was kind enough to make his way over to UCLA and put up with the crazy parking and answered all the ‘insightful’ and weird question we could throw at him. He has a great personal style and it will be interesting to see what his next film looks like.
He has a weekly (?) comic up at his new website/blog called Kiskaloo. Great looking and tons-o-fun to read. Hey it’s another example of animation and illustration living together in harmony and beauty and happiness! Even better this fits into another of my favorite topics, comic strips. So it combines comic strips, animation, and illustration. AND as Lilo and Stitch started out as an idea for a children’s picture book, this post hits all my favorite topics!
