I hear that from a few folks. I get asked, why a blog, if you don’t post? Well, I’ll tell you. As a newly minted stay-at-home-dad (I’m lucky to be able to be at home full-time and have a nanny one or two days a week so I can keep up with some of my work) I’ve learned that a 10 month old leaves little time for meandering blog posts…except this one. Here’ s a few things I have leanred from being a stay-at-home-dad with 2 dogs and a cat as well.
1. When the baby gets sick, so does at least one of the animals AND one of the parents.
2. If one of the animals suddenly gets sick all over, say the couch, there is a 86% chance that the baby is very near by and may beat you to the action.
3. Diapers don’t change themselves.
4. That thing you really, really, really had to get done, it probably won’t get done.
So there you have it. Why the blog doesn’t get updated. I have been especially busy the past month with some fun freelance (do those words go together?) that I will talk about soon. I also was in the running for a book project that I was really excited about. Talked with the editor a few times. Even did a rough to explain something I was thinking. Than, I hear nothing for 4 weeks and my emails don’t get answered. Not sure what happened. Perhaps the editor is a stay-at-home-mom (can that phrase be used for moms who stay home?) and if that is the case it could be the reasons enumerated above. But whatever the reason, I guess I’m not going to be illustrating that book. Bummer. I liked the story too.
